The Theta Mu Mu Annual Charles Drew Blood Drive

Hello friends. Once again, we are doing our part to save lives here in the Baltimore metro area. Our goal this year is 100 units of blood. We are aiming high, but we believe that with your help, 100 units is a goal we can reach.

If you're not sure if you can give, or have questions about donating blood, click here or call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543).

Brothers will be on hand for a little fun and hospitality, so please join us on June 29th between 8am and 2pm. It may be a complete stranger, or someone you know, but your donation will help someone.

Service at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen

The Brothers of Theta Mu Mu participate in the efforts to serve the Baltimore City community at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen.

Our Daily Bread is Maryland’s hot meal program, serving more than a quarter million meals to the hungry of Baltimore City each year. Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen serves nutritious lunches everyday of the year, and breakfast to seniors and individuals with disabilities each weekday.

Our relationship with Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen has provided the Chapter an opportunity to have a sincere presence within the Baltimore City community.  Our service continues to allow us to establish and foster those relationships.  Our work has been an invaluable experience for all of the Brothers who take the time to participate in this activity.

Theta Mu Mu and the SEED School Read Across America

The SEED School of Maryland is a statewide, college-preparatory, public boarding school, which opened in 2008. The SEED model integrates a rigorous academic program with a nurturing boarding program and provides students with a safe and secure environment, 24 hours a day/5 days a week. SEED students live on a beautiful 52-acre campus from Sunday evenings through Friday afternoons.
Theta Mu Mu began the 2012-2013 school year by working with the young men around the first book entitled SLAM! by Walter Dean Myers. The students participated in activities that allowed them to expound on their interpretation of the content and the characters within the book. Several brothers participated in the forum by challenging the young men to elaborate on their interpretations. Each book assigned is carefully selected to encourage students to recognize life lessons and critical learning scenarios. The premise of the activity was to provide exercises that provide a climate that encourages leadership development and self-discovery.
Theta Mu Mu chapter has committed to mentoring these young men for the remainder of the School Year through various activities that support building Manhood and Scholarship among the students.
